2010 Christmas

Christmas a time to show love,
As December 25th approach, a lot of people have start making preparation for Christmas/end of year celebration, many questions arise in the heart of many people such as; where to shop?, where to travel to?, how to decorate their houses?, what to do for the family?, why some wonder; was December 25th really the birth of Christ?, is it right for a Christian to celebrate Christmas?, the money to celebrate Christmas can’t the christians give it to the poor?, is it really Christmas the world is celebrating or end of year?. This and many more other questions arise in the heart of others. first and foremost we need to understand the meaning of Christmas, “Christmas” mean the birth of Jesus, more than 2000 years ago the word of God, Jesus became flesh and dwell among us according to the book of John, these is the greatest thing that has ever happen in the history of man, we all known that Jesus Christ never ask us to celebrate his birth, infact the exact date Jesus was been born is not known, December 25th was a date that fall during the period Jesus was been given birth, Pope Julius 1 in 350 AD declare December 25th to be Christmas day, December 25th was a day of the pagan feast Saturnalia during those days. The pope was not wrong to appoint a date to celebrate the birth of Christ, due to the following reason; 1. It make us as a Christian to remember how Jesus was been given birth to. 2. it make the world to known that Jesus came to save them from total condemnation. 3. It make the world to known that Jesus love we all while we hate him, it also make us to understand that man can fail us but Jesus can never fail us. Infact because of the celebration of Christmas thousands of people has come to known Jesus and acknowledge Jesus Christ as their lord and personal saviour, if because of Christmas thousands of lost sheep are found why can’t some Christian believe that it is good to celebrate it, remember Jesus said “the heaven rejoice to see the repentance of an unbeliever”, what about if thousands repent because of the celebration of Christmas don’t you think God and his Angels will rejoice, infact celebrating Christmas is an avenue for we all to preach, even the unbeliever celebrate Jesus they never believe on hallelujah. 4. Originally December 25th was a pagan feast day, the celebration of Christmas has turn many pagan from partaking in Saturnalia, this indeed is a great achievement for the church. Christmas is not end of year party or celebration so never miss quote it, it is not bad to thank God at the end of the year between December 25th to December 30 or to host party for your family and friend but do it the right way, so that you will be blameless, I Peter A. Ogbeide on behalf of St. Raphael, Catholic Charismatic Renewal Press Unit say merry Christmas to you and your family, may the blessing of God be with you, remember don’t abuse the privileged giving to you to celebrate Christmas, don’t do it like unbeliever who don’t understand what they are celebrating.:-):-).
